  Jasmine wanted to knock the pair of their heads together. She was more than capable of taking care of herself. Hell, they couldn’t find her and they both had super senses, and that was without everything else her magic could do.

  She tested the hold that Wade had on her wrist and she knew that even if she slipped back inside her magic, with the physical hold he had on her, he could keep her tethered to him.

  “Wade…” She hissed out, but he yanked her forwards and held up her wrist for Nathan to take. He wasn’t about to take any chances that she would or could slip away again.

  Nathan gave her a slightly apologetic look as he closed his hand around her wrist, but the sight of Wade stripping off his clothes took her attention away from giving Nathan a piece of her mind.

  “Have a fruitful hunt.” Nathan offered just in time before Wade set off on human feet into the woods. The sound of fast paws quickly followed as he shifted into his beast.

  “Idiot.” Jasmine hissed out between clenched teeth and brought Nathan’s eyes down to her.

  “Me or him?” Nathan teased and she flicked him a dark glare.

  “Both.” Jasmine hissed up at him and he cocked just one dark eyebrow down at her.

  “Come on Pouty, let’s get you back.”

  Jasmine paced back and forth in front of the towering glare of Wade’s beta. Brock was less than impressed with the little Fae’s attitude already, considering he was only safeguarding her wellbeing at the request of the vampire.

  She had already delivered a tirade at being kept prisoner inside the house, as she saw it, while Nathan had gone back out to help Wade hunt the rogue. After Nathan had, not too ceremoniously dumped her onto the sofa on their fast return, she was now brewing up a storm of anger inside her again, as she paced and glared up at the big Lycan.

  “Guard dog…” She muttered under her breath, although Brock knew as well as she did that he would catch her words, and he gave a slow, low growl of annoyance at the little witch, but he chose to ignore her.

  Jasmine turned on her heels and paced back in the other direction. Why did the men in her life always have to be so… manly? So damn protective. First she had endured years of Nathan’s over protectiveness and now she was being tag teamed by two Alpha males.

  If Fate thought that Nathan had been good training for her to get used to Wade’s protective streak, than Fate was wrong, she’d had more than enough of it over the years.

  “Why don’t you just go and help them instead of guarding dogging me?” Jasmine made it sound more like an accusation than a question, and she saw even more annoyance in Brocks face as he stared down at her.

  “Why don’t you go do something womanly and cook something, if you want to be helpful?” Brock shot back, knowing deep inside that it was the wrong thing to say to the stubborn little Fae, and yet annoyed enough by her behaviour to feel a verbal slap was warranted.

  Jasmine had been pacing away from him at the time and he knew the moment her shoulders tensed that he was about to endure more of her wrath. Turning on her heels to glare at him, those small fists of hers went to her hips and he felt the need to swallow down the mistake that he had made by not just ignoring her.

  “I could wipe the floor with your furry little backside, and you think I belong in a kitchen?” Jasmine demanded a reply, an apology, something to ward off the fact that she wanted to bounce this Lycan off every wall in the house right now, and they both knew that she was capable of doing just that.

  “Look…” He started towards her with one long stride, his finger pointed in her direction and she balked.

  “Don’t you look me, you mutt…”Jasmine glared up at him. There were a million things she wanted to do to this wolf man right about now, and all of those stemmed from the fact that she couldn’t get back outside.

  From the moment she got back she knew she had done wrong in not challenging the rogue when she had the chance, but her need to make sure that Nathan and Wade were safe had over ridden her sense. If she had used her magic on the beast this could have ended, and she wouldn’t be worried sick and pacing in front of an obstinate Beta.

  “That’s a rogue out there…” Brock tried to make her see sense, but all she saw was the brick wall between her and the people she cared about.

  “Oh, state the obvious…” Jasmine threw up her hands in disgust. “While you might be afraid to go up against…”

  “Afraid…?” Brock took another step forwards. His face was growing hot with anger and his eyes were flaring with intensity as he glared down at her. She might have been the Alpha’s mate, but she was pushing all of his buttons right now.

  “Perhaps that is why they left at home with the women…” Jasmine knew she should have backed down, but her anger was being fuelled by the uncertainty of what was happening on the other side of that damn door that he was guarding, and her guilt at not taking out the rogue when she had the chance.

  Brock’s growl was low and deep as he took another step towards her. His chin was practically down on his chest, and there was a slight up curl to his lips. Not a snarl as such, but not far off.

  “Now you listen to me, little witch…”

  “Why? No one else does, you’re the one they left behind…” She verbally prodded him some more, and he took another step towards her just as Wade came through the front door with Nathan not far on his heels.

  “Brock, back away from the annoying female.” Wade offered on a growl of knowing just how mad she could make a man. His eyes were fixed on his Beta, but he could sense the relief that flooded from his mate, and he was sure it had nothing to do with the fact that she was worried about Brock’s stance.

  Brock got a hold of the anger inside him and took a step back away from Jasmine, the low rumble that rattled through his chest, made her want to pet his ego now that her mate and Nathan were back safely.

  “Off you go, good boy.” Jasmine teased, she didn’t have it in her to give him an easy exit.

  “That’s it…” Wade covered the distance between them in three quick strides. The sight of her mate coming towards her, naked from the waist up, as he tossed the T-shirt in his hand aside, eyes blazing deep pools of ebony, and the deep frown of annoyance on his forehead, had her eyes widening in shock.

  “Don’t you dare…” She hissed out between clenched teeth, but it was already too late. His big hands reached for her and she found herself hanging upside down over his shoulder as he started off up the stairs, and all she could concentrate on was Nathan’s deep chuckle as she debated her response within her mind.

  CHAPTER NINE

  “Dare? Oh I dare, little Fae…” Wade growled out, bounding up the stairs so fast that her head spun from the speed and the blood rushing towards her brain.

  “Put me down, you...” She did a little growling of her own as he spun into the bedroom and back kicked the door closed behind them.

  “I think you need to cool down, Jasmine.” Wade offered as he took her into the bathroom, snapped on the shower and deposited her, fully clothed under the cold spray.

  Jasmine felt the ice cold of the water hit her and her eyes went wide with the shock to her system as she shrieked and tried to escape the stream. Wade’s hands kept her in place as the water ran down over her head and body and caused one shiver after another to wash through her body.

  “You…” She shrieked out, spluttering against the water that ran over her face and into her mouth as Wade climbed in behind her and yanked her back against his chest, holding her firmly in place.

  “Hot headed witches…” He started, and she lifted her foot and brought her heel down onto his toes. The pain made him growl out with anger as his hands tightened around her arms, and he nudged her forwards with his hips until the spray was completely in her face, making her splutter against the water and the icy chill. “Need to find a way to cool off.” He growled.

  Jasmine was squirming to get away from his hold, but he had a vice grip on her arms, and with the solidity of his hips keeping
her from backing away from the water, she found that she had nowhere to go. For one long moment she thought about tossing him across the room, and yet her heart and mind couldn’t quite come to terms with hurting him in that manner.

  Jasmine let out a shock through her body that had his hands tightening against her arms. She could feel the length of him pressed against her as his muscles absorbed the pulse that travelled through him, and then the deep dark growl rolled through his chest and from his lips, as he yanked her away from the spray and turned her towards him in one movement.

  Trying to look up at him through the water that was still cascading down her face and into her eyes was almost impossible, but she could imagine the blackness of his eyes and the scowl of anger on his face without the need to see it.

  “What did I tell you about using your magic against me?” The deep warning growl of anger that greeted her ears made her want to curl herself around his body instead of repelling him across the room.

  “You tried to drown me…”She shot back, blinking against the diminishing stream that ran out of her hair and down her face.

  “I can think of more satisfying ways to end you than drowning…”He growled down at her. The anger was seeping out of him as he stared down at her drowned rat appearance, and a small smile started to curl the corners of his lips.

  “You put me in a freezing cold shower…”She accused as another shiver ran through her body and she saw his eyes fill with amusement.

  “You needed to cool off…”

  “Oaf…”She wriggled against his hold on her and he let her go. The feel of her wet clothes clinging to her body made her shiver again, especially now she didn’t have the heat of his body to counteract it, and he reached behind her and flicked the shower onto heat, before reaching for her top and yanking it up her body and over her head.

  “Maybe I should have just let Brock loose on you?” He was trying not to smile, and when he peeled off the wet T-shirt, exposing her naked breasts, she heard the low growl of desire that ripped through him.

  “Maybe I would have flattened him against the nearest wall.” Jasmine shivered again and he nudged her backwards with his hips so that the hot spray hit her naked back, and she closed her eyes and revelled in the feel of the warmth against her skin.

  “Is that what you wanted to do to me just now, Jasmine?” Wade’s low growl rolled over her senses, and when his thumbs rolled over the hard buds of her pebbled nipples she reached for the stability of his upper arms.

  “That’s not what I want to do to you right at this minute…”Her back arched and her hips pressed against the hardness beneath the soaking wet denim of his jeans and he growled again.

  “What do you want to do?”His body was already anticipating being inside the tight heat of hers. His mind was already flooding with the memory of how that felt, and when her hands reached for his jeans and she released his aching shaft, he was already stripping her of the rest of her clothes and turning her face first towards the tiled wall.

  “I want to touch you, to take you in my mouth…” The deep hard growl that rumbled through him only served to make her want him more. This deep seated need for each other was born out of the mating process, and they both knew that there was little to stop the fire that ran through both of them.

  “Not right now, sweetheart. I think we both need something more.”He wrenched his jeans as far down as he could get them, but he didn’t even bother with the formality of taking them completely off. His mate was in need and he burned with the desire that scorched through him.

  His hands spread her thighs and he gripped his shaft, taking it to where they both needed it to be. He could scent her arousal, he could feel her need for him, and he thrust inside her with little ceremony, allowing half of his shaft to stretch her around him.

  “Wade…” The almost desperate sound of his mate had him pulling back his hips and thrusting inside her again, this time taking her to the hilt as she thrust her backside backwards towards him. Wade growled hard as he ground inside her. The feel of her womb against the tip of his shaft made him want to explode his seed right then and there, especially with the feel of her inner muscles clamped around him so tightly that he didn’t want to move for fear he would hurt her.

  “Wade…” That was a plea this time, and he pulled back to thrust deep inside her again. Jasmine dropped her forehead against her hands as they palmed the wall in front of her, and she revelled in the hardness within her core. If they didn’t bond soon, the fever to devour each other would consume them both.

  Wade’s hands gripped her hips. There was nothing slow in the way he was moving within her, his hips were slamming hard against her backside in a constant, fast, barrage of sensation that had her breath hitching as he pounded her towards her release, and she revelled in the intensity of what his body was creating inside her.

  “Jasmine…?” The growled question against her shoulder as his body caged her in gave her only a moment’s pause.

  “More…”She cried out and felt his hands tighten against her flesh, his fingers biting into the skin, as he pounded inside her. The swollen tip of his penis running back and forth over the sweet spot that made her muscles tighten and her insides quiver in response.

  Wade’s fangs elongated and the beast inside pushed forwards. The urge to bond with her was like a fire within his blood.

  ‘Mine.’

  “Mine.” Wade growled against her neck, and he knew he needed to end this now, before he could no longer control the wolf within him not to take over completely.

  The feel of his mates body tensing let him know that she was close to her orgasm and he pulled his hips back and pumped against her sweet spot until she cried out with the force of the release that tore through her.

  Wade thrust hard and deep inside her. The feel of her inner muscles trying to massage his seed from within him was all he needed to rush to his own release, and he pulled back and thrust in deeply delivering his seed to her womb, over and over until he was sated.

  Wade pressed his body against hers, holding them both in place against the wall, as he fought to recover his strength. His forehead was against the cold tile and his arms caged her in on either side. Still buried deep inside her, his half mast was twitching back to life against the feel of her inner muscles pulsing around him.

  “Did I hurt you?”The sound of his beast made his voice deep and gravelly against her ear. When she didn’t answer him he eased out of her and turned her towards him. Her head found his chest and she tried to regain enough of herself to answer.

  “Jasmine, did I hurt you?”He cupped her face and tipped her head back to look down into her flushed cheeks. Her eyes were closed and her lips trembled as she drew in ragged breaths. “Sweetheart?”

  “N-o.”She knew she had to force the word out of her mouth before her Alpha went into full blown meltdown, and she felt him relax almost immediately.

  “Come here, love…” Wade reached down and lifted her into his arms, and she didn’t have the energy to protest, even if she had wanted too. “I have you.” He growled gently against her hair as she rested her cheek against the wet heat of his chest and felt him carry her into the bedroom.

  She felt weaker than she had felt in a very long time. One bout of flu came close in her early teens, and she was thankful that Wade had enough strength to get the both of them to the bed. She didn’t feel the mattress beneath her as he kept her in his arms and lay down with her against his chest, her body running the length of his, as his hands ran down over her back and he soothed her back to him, seemed to give her the strength back into her limbs.

  “We’re going to have to bond soon, love, before my beast becomes out of control…”Wade’s low tone seemed hesitant to her and she managed to tip her head to look up at him. Forcing her lids open, she saw the look of love he was bestowing on her, and the look of apprehension he had in his eyes.

  “Did you think I wouldn’t want to bond with you?”She asked. Noting that the look on his f
ace didn’t change.

  “Do you want to?”

  “Can’t you tell, Wade?”

  “No, love. I need you to tell me what you want. I won’t just take you like that. Allow my beast control without your consent to be mine forever.”Wade stroked the backs of his fingers down over her cheek, and saw the smile that turned the corners of her lips upwards and then spread over her face.

  “I do.”It was such a simple reply, but it made his heart swell within him. His beast could have been doing back flips given half the chance, as it howled its approval, and Wade reached for her and eased her up his body, brushing his lips over hers, before he devoured her with a passion that took her breath away and made her feel weak all over again.

  “Not now. You’re too weak for the bonding…” Wade started and she went to speak, but he cut her off. “The beast is ferocious in his intensity, Jasmine. I want you to be ready for him when he takes over.”He brushed his lips over hers again, before he folded her within his arms and held her close.

  “Nathan, it’s too high…” Sky hissed as she clung on as best she could around the thick tree trunk, and snatched a few fearful looks down at ground below.

  “But, you trust me to keep you safe, right?” Nathan teased, knowing his little she-wolf didn’t much care for this kind of height, but she liked the danger, and danger heightened passion, and he was going for passion, passion and danger, and maybe he might even cure his little mate of her need to take chances to feel alive, especially without him by her side.

  “Yes, but…” She bit out as she shifted her weight from one bare foot to the other in an attempt to give herself a good sturdy footing on the branch below. It still felt as if her feet could slip off at any moment, and in some far off place in her mind she knew that he could catch her in a nanosecond, and yet it still felt so very wrong.
