BEAR-LY CHRISTMAS Read online
Page 8
Aidan ripped open the packaging and yanked out the shirt. He flicked it out and held it up… there was a cartoon bear on the front of it – kind of a Yogi – he would have growled, but his eyes read the words at the top… Daddy bear…
Aidan felt the catch in the back of his throat and reached for her, snatching her back up against him, and burying his face against her neck, breathing her in… knowing that she was his, all in… and they were going to be a family…
“That came for you.” She pointed to the flat box that was wrapped in pink Santa paper and tied with a pink ribbon and large pink bow…
“For me?” He growled and she shrugged.
Aidan sat her back down and handed her the mug of coffee… her eyes went wide with delight… then he remembered, and snatched it away again…
“Hey! No fair!” She growled up at him.
“I forgot. No coffee!” He snapped.
“That was all you.” She snapped back…
“I’ll make you a tea…”
“Oh… goodie.” She muttered rolling her eyes. “Chubby cubby it is then.” She snorted and he chuckled. “Open your present I want to see what it is.”
He reached for it and tore off the wrapping. When he pulled open the top of the box there was a framed photograph of his parents – they were looking right at the camera and they looked happy.
It was as if they were reaching right up and sharing in his joy… Aidan growled gently. Taking the frame out with care and handing it to her.
“My parents.” He said and she nodded…
“And they should go right there…” She placed the frame on the side table next to the sofa.
“So they can share in our family.” Aidan grinned.
“Who sent it?”
Aidan reached in and snatched up the card…
“I kept some of your things when I thought you were dead…” he read and then snorted a chuckle. “That’ll be Jax…” he told her. “Thought you’d want this for now. Nox is bringing the rest in the new year.” His eyes snapped to his mate.
“I like her already.” Tammy grinned. “She did stop you from eating your whole clan.” She shrugged.
“They would have killed me.” Aidan growled out. He wasn’t taking credit where there was none due. He wasn’t superman, just a regular alpha…
“Then I like her even more.” Tammy said as she pushed back up and threw herself into his arms… “Take me back to bed and show me what I would have been missing.” She said, and he liked that idea.
“I thought you wanted to do Christmas?” He chuckled.
“This is Christmas – our way.”
“Well, then I like this Christmas thing.” He growled – heading for the bedroom…
“See, I knew I could make you come around.”
The End.
